Synopsis
Jiyu, a student at Aster School—a prestigious private girls' school on Manhattan's Upper East Side—lives in the same apartment building as Hunter, who attends Alton School, the boys' school across the street. However, between Hunter, who lives in the penthouse of a luxury apartment on Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park, and Jiyu, who lives in a first-floor rental unit, there exists a gap as vast as that between the top and bottom of a pyramid.
Jiyu, who loves to sit quietly and read, and Hunter, who cannot stay still for a single moment, are polar opposites in personality.
Showing a talent for tennis, Hunter begins competing seriously in tournaments and wins every match Jiyu attends. Consequently, Hunter comes to believe that Jiyu is his winning Jinx. Growing tired of Hunter pestering her to come to every match, Jiyu tells a small lie.
